Acceptance of Terms

By inviting Cogit Security to your Discord server, accessing the web dashboard, or using any associated feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must remove the bot and stop using the Services immediately.

"Services" means the Cogit Security Discord bot, the web dashboard, the API, and any premium features operated by Cogit Development ("we," "our," "us").

Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. Users aged 13–17 require a parent or legal guardian to agree to these Terms on their behalf.
• You must hold a valid Discord account in good standing. Your use of Discord is separately governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
• We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we discover a user is under 13, their access will be terminated immediately.
• To purchase a premium subscription you must also hold a valid payment method and operate a Discord server that complies with Discord's rules.

Account Responsibilities

• Security: Keep your Discord credentials and dashboard session confidential. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Accurate information: Provide truthful and complete information when registering, subscribing, or submitting any application. Fraudulent information may result in immediate termination without refund.
• Server compliance: Ensure that any Discord server on which the bot is active complies with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
• No unauthorized sharing: Do not share session tokens, transfer dashboard access to third parties, or attempt to access other users' accounts or data.

Discord Integration

• Bot permissions: By inviting the bot you grant it the Discord permissions required for its configured security features. You may revoke access at any time by removing the bot; some features will stop functioning as a result.
• OAuth2 login: The dashboard authenticates via Discord OAuth2. We receive only the scopes you explicitly authorize and never receive your Discord password.
• Guild data: While active, the bot may read server-level data (members, roles, channels) solely to deliver configured security features. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
• Message content: The bot uses Discord's MessageContent intent only where required for active moderation. Message content is never stored beyond what is needed for real-time security actions.
• API compliance: You agree to use the bot and dashboard in full compliance with Discord's Developer Terms of Service. Conduct that jeopardizes our API access or bot token may result in immediate service suspension.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services.
• Use the bot or dashboard to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for personal gain or to harm others — use the Bug Hunter Program for responsible disclosure.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or Cogit Development staff.
• Sell, rent, resell, or sublicense access to the Services or premium features.
• Use automated scripts or scrapers to spam or overload the Services.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent applications, bug reports, or support requests.
• Impersonate Cogit Development staff, bot accounts, or other users.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination with no refund.

Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

• Liability cap: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cogit Development's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
• No consequential damages: We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including data loss, lost profits, or business interruption — even if advised of the possibility.
• Service availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to force majeure events beyond our reasonable control.

Termination & Updates to These Terms

Termination by you: You may stop using the Services at any time by removing the bot and ceasing access to the dashboard.

Termination by us: We may suspend or permanently terminate your access — with or without notice — if you breach any provision of these Terms, if your use poses a risk to other users or our infrastructure, or if required by law or Discord.

Updates to Terms: We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via the Cogit Security Discord server or the dashboard. Continued use after updates take effect constitutes acceptance.

Plan Details & Billing

• We offer premium subscription plans that unlock advanced security commands and features within Cogit Security. Plan details, pricing, and features are presented at the time of purchase.
• Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on the selected plan.
• Your billing cycle starts on the date of purchase and automatically renews on the same date each period.
• Pricing changes apply to future billing cycles only. We will provide advance notice of any material changes.

Cancellation Policy

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the My Plan tab in the dashboard or by contacting our support team.
• A full refund may be requested within 7 days of the initial purchase. After 7 days no refunds are issued.
• Renewal charges and unused time within an active billing period are non-refundable.
• No refunds are issued where termination results from a breach of these Terms.

Access After Cancellation

• Cancel at end of period: You retain full premium access until your current billing period ends.
• End immediately: Selecting the immediate cancellation option revokes premium access on the same day.
• Premium settings and configurations may be retained for a limited period after cancellation before permanent deletion, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

Feature Suspension & Reactivation

• Upon expiration or cancellation, a 12-hour grace period applies before premium services are fully revoked.
• To restore premium access, renew your subscription. All features are restored once payment is confirmed.
• No refunds or credits are provided for time elapsed during a suspension period.

Plan Changes

• Upgrades take effect immediately and generate a prorated charge for the remainder of the billing period.
• Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. No refund or credit is issued for the current cycle.
• We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or restructure plans at any time. Existing subscribers may be grandfathered on current pricing for a limited transition period.

Server Transfer Policy

• Upon purchasing, you must select one Discord server to activate premium features.
• One free transfer to a different server is permitted per subscription.
• After the first transfer, subsequent transfers require a 7-day waiting period.
• All premium data (settings, configurations, command history) from the previous server is permanently deleted upon transfer and cannot be recovered.
• Premium may only be active on one server at a time.

Bug Hunter Program

The Bug Hunter Program allows approved users to identify and responsibly report bugs and vulnerabilities within Cogit Security. By participating, you agree to the following:

• Provide accurate, detailed, and reproducible reports for every discovered issue.
• Use developer tools and diagnostic access solely to identify and document issues — never to exploit them.
• Keep all discovered vulnerabilities strictly confidential until Cogit Development issues an official fix or public disclosure.
• Never exploit, publicize, or share vulnerabilities with third parties before authorized disclosure is granted.
• Any exploitation of bugs for personal gain or to harm other users will result in immediate removal from the program and may result in legal action.
• Bug Hunters may be eligible for rewards based on severity and impact. Rewards, if any, are issued at Cogit Development's sole discretion.
• Participation does not create an employment, agency, or contractor relationship between you and Cogit Development.

Partnership Terms

Cogit Development offers partnership opportunities for individuals and businesses whose goals align with ours. Approved partners may be granted access to exclusive tools, APIs, and resources. Partner terms include:

• Both parties are expected to uphold professional and ethical business practices throughout the partnership.
• Partners agree to keep all shared tools, API access, pricing information, and internal processes strictly confidential. This obligation survives termination of the partnership.
• Partners must not represent themselves as employees, agents, or legal representatives of Cogit Development.
• Clients will be assigned based on mutual discussion and written agreement.
• Partnerships are subject to periodic performance review and renewal.
• Either party may terminate the partnership with 14 days' written notice. Cogit Development may terminate immediately for breach of these Terms or conduct harmful to the Services or our reputation.

Open Roles

Cogit Security offers the following volunteer and paid roles. All applicants must be members of the Cogit Security Discord server and must agree to the conduct requirements below.

• Partnerships: Build and manage relationships with other Discord communities and bot developers. Represent Cogit Security and grow our partner network. Volunteer.
• Promoter / Influencer: Promote Cogit Security across social media, YouTube, TikTok, or other content platforms. Compensation: $5–$15 per active qualified referral.
• Community Scout: Scout Discord communities for users and servers that could benefit from Cogit Security, and report community trends. Compensation: $15 per 10 qualified servers.
• Bug Hunter: Find and responsibly report bugs in the platform. See the Bug Hunter Program section for full participation rules. Volunteer + cash rewards for critical finds.

Application Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to apply for any role. Certain roles may have higher age requirements communicated at the time of application.
• You must be an active member of the Cogit Security Discord server.
• All information submitted in an application must be accurate and truthful. Fraudulent applications will be permanently disqualified.
• If a role application is rejected, a cooldown period may apply before you can reapply. The specific cooldown is communicated at the time of rejection.

Staff Conduct & Responsibilities

All team members and role holders agree to the following standards of conduct:

• Represent Cogit Security professionally and respectfully in all public and internal interactions.
• Follow all internal guidelines, instructions from leadership, and decisions made by the Cogit Development team.
• Maintain confidentiality over any internal information, tools, access, or communications shared in the course of your role.
• Do not use your role or access for personal gain, unauthorized promotions, or activities outside the defined scope of your position.
• Report any conflicts of interest, issues, or concerns to the team promptly and in good faith.

Role Removal & Reapplication

• Cogit Development reserves the right to remove any team member from their role at any time for breach of conduct, inactivity, or any reason deemed necessary for the health of the team.
• If a role is removed due to a conduct violation, the affected member may be subject to a cooldown period before reapplication and may be permanently barred in severe cases.
• Compensation earned prior to role removal is honored. Compensation is not owed for periods of inactivity or after the role is removed.
• Holding or having held a role does not create an employment, agency, or contractor relationship with Cogit Development. All roles are volunteer or commission-based unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

Services Provided

• Scope of Work: You are responsible for providing clear, accurate, and complete specifications before development begins. Changes to scope after work has started may result in additional charges, communicated before work continues.
• Compliance: You agree to use the delivered bot in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and all applicable laws. Cogit Development is not responsible for how the bot is used after delivery.

Payment & Fees

• Pricing: Pricing is determined by the complexity and features of the requested bot and will be confirmed in writing before work begins.
• Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 5% of the agreed price is required before development starts.
• Final payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion and delivery of the bot.
• Refund policy: Refunds are not provided once development has started. If Cogit Development is unable to fulfill the agreed requirements, a partial refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Payment Terms

• Clients may pay the full project amount upfront or upon completion, as agreed in writing.
• Full payment must be received before website files are delivered to the client.

Project Delivery

• All projects are developed and delivered upon receipt of full payment.
• At delivery, the client receives all website files and source code.

Hosting Services

• Self-hosting: The client receives all files and source code and is responsible for deploying and maintaining their own hosting infrastructure.
• Managed hosting: Available upon request. Terms, pricing, and support scope are confirmed in writing before activation.
• We do not guarantee specific uptime levels unless stated in a separate written agreement. Managed hosting support covers server-level issues only and does not extend to third-party service outages.

Non-Payment Policy

If full payment is not received upon project completion, the project is terminated and the client will not receive the website files or any associated assets.
